
After getting a satisfactory report from security advisors, New Zealand has confirmed PCB to tour Pakistan in September. It will be the first tour of the New Zealand team to Pakistan in the last 18 years.
After the attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2008, no international team visited Pakistan for a long time. Pakistan has tried their best to control the terrorism in the country and then they managed to host series for West Indies, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and South Africa.
Now, New Zealand’s tour is very important for the revival of cricket in Pakistan. The tour will start on the 17th of September with the ODI match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The three ODI matches will be played on the 17th, 19th, and 21st of September at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After the ODI series, New Zealand will travel to Lahore to play the 5 T20I matches at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
The 5 ODI matches are scheduled to play on 25th, 26th, 29th September, and 1st and 3rd of October. Cricket lovers in Pakistan are waiting for this series as this would be good practice for Pakistan’s team for the preparation for the T20I World Cup that is scheduled to start on 17th October in UAE.

Now coming back to the New Zealand tour to Pakistan, it is expected that a few big players will not be available for the tour. The reason is that the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League will continue from 19th of September in UAE.
Kane Williamson is the captain of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad and Trent Boult is an important player of Mumbai Indians who is going to defend the title. Kyle Jamieson will likely join Royal Challengers Bangalore. Now it is up to the players whether they tour Pakistan to represent their national team, or they want to make some money by playing IPL.
After this tour, it is expected that England and West Indies will also tour Pakistan followed by the Australian cricket team in February 2022. So, it will be a start of a long home season for Pakistan for 2021-22. It is expected that regular cricket will start in Pakistan after these 4 main teams, Australia, England, New Zealand, and West Indies visits Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board and the Government of Pakistan also trying to host some ICC events in the homeland from 2024 to 2031.
