Lac Blanc, which is around a two-hour drive from the heart of Montreal, may appear to be a teeny-tiny and inaccessible lake, but the fact that it is so is part of its allure.
In our opinion, it is without a doubt one of the nicest spots in Quebec to visit throughout the fall, particularly when the leaves are altering their colors and taking on warmer tones. It’s like magic.
We wanted to make the most of this opportunity, so we took a tour of the fall foliage in a helicopter, and it was out of this world!
We coordinated everything from the Pourvoirie du Lac Blanc (which is also a place where you may stay), and the departure point was a little distance from the coast of Lac Blanc.
Sincerely, if you are thinking about going, the fall is the best time to go! After that, you can go for a hike on one of the woodland trails, discover this gorgeous region of Quebec, and simply take it all in. We didn’t want to leave because we were having such a good time.
Another option is to stay at the Auberge du Lac Taureau, which is what we did after going to the Lac Blanc. Here, we took a quaint little boat ride about Taureau Lake and then settled into the cabin-style hotel for a bit of rest and leisure. So good.
Pointe-Au-Père
Pointe-Au-Père, located on the southern coast of the St. Lawrence River, is approximately a four-hour journey east of Gaspe and a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Quebec City.
If you are traveling toward Gaspe and are seeking a place to stay and relax, this location is ideal because of the aforementioned reasons.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore the Maritime Historic Site while you’re here, which preserves artifacts from the wreck of the Empress as well as the Onondaga submarine and a lighthouse post (the first open to the public in all of Canada).
In addition, make your way over to the completely laid-back Resto de la Mer. It might not look like a posh high-end hotspot, but its poutine is delicious and will satisfy any hungry spot you might have!
